Alicia Marie Vigil

1935 ~ 2016

Our beloved wife, mom, grandma (great) and friend, Alicia Marie Vigil returned to her Heavenly Father on June 18, 2016 surrounded by her family.

She was born July 2, 1935 in Lumberton, New Mexico to Luis and Cleo Garcia.  She married Frank Vigil on February 19, 1951; they have been married for 65 years.

Alicia was a very loving caring person, who always expressed her love to her family.  That love grew stronger, as she raised her grandson, Orlando (Britney) and her great grandchildren, Erica, Leticia and Marcos.

Alicia had a strong love for God.  As a Sunday School Teacher, one of her great joys was putting on puppet shows. Her faith gave her the courage to visit local prisons and jails to spread God’s word.

Although Alicia struggled with some health issues the past few years, she was still a very high spirited woman, who always loved to play her favorite game of solitaire.

Alicia is survived by her husband; son, Thomas Vigil (Eva); daughter, Antonette Montoya (David); brother, Ernest Garcia; grandchildren, Lupe Najera (L acy) and Briauna Saunders (Cody); and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Valentino Vigil; her daughter, Franchesca (Kiki) Vigil; and two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at 6:00 pm at the Peel Funeral Home, located at 8525 West 2700 South, Magna, Utah.  A viewing will be held prior to funeral services from 4-6 pm.
