1939 ~ 2015

Allan passed away after surgery on December 26, 2015. He was born March 3, 1939 to Harold Walter and Maretta Crockett Rushton. After graduating from Cyprus High School he was called to serve a Western States LDS Mission. He graduated from the University of Utah with a Political Science degree and also received a te3aching certificate from BYU. He worked at Kennecott for 35 years and was the Steelworkers Union President. He held 4 terms in the Utah State Legislature and was very active in his church and community.

Allan is survived by his wife, Diane Abraham Rushton; daughter, Traci Ann Zimmerman; sons, Glen Allan (Kim), Mark Allan (Rhiannon), and Matthew Allan (Brandy); 18 grandchildren; 2 great granddaughters; sisters, Maretta (David) Hatton, Jennie Childs, Maysel Rushton; and brother, John Walter(Lisa) Rushton. Preceded in death by his father and mother; and brother-in-law, Franklin Childs.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Hunter 2 nd Ward, 3970 S. 5200 W., where a viewing will be held 11-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
