Audrey Azelle Horton Ikola
MAGNA– Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Returned to her Heavenly Father on March 30, 2018. Born March 31, 1927, Kemmerer, WY, to George F. and Azella Arnell Horton.
Graduated from Kemmerer High School in 1945. She married her high school sweetheart, Raymond A. Ikola, April 21, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple.
She spent a happy childhood with her two younger sisters, Nola Jeanne and Darlene Mary. Bear Lake was her special vacation place – young and old. She had many loved ones there. She loved to read, swim and ride horses. Ray’s work at Western Airlines made traveling easy and they visited much of America, Mexico, Italy, France, Switzerland and Germany.
Her family was her greatest happiness. All their accomplishments brought her joy. Audrey was always active in her second love. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held positions in all of the auxiliaries. Family History and Temple Work were a constant, which were shared with special friends.
Audrey was employed by Eitel McCullough and Litton for over 30 years. She retired in 1984.
Survivors: sons; Kevin, Terri (Donna), daughters; Shelley, Merri (Craig) Ellsworth, 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, sister, Darlene Smith, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services, Friday, Apr. 6 at 12 pm, Lakeridge 11 th Ward, 7825 Sharon Dr. Visitations at Peel Funeral Home 8525 West 2700 South, Magna, Thursday, 6-8 pm and Friday at the church 11-11:45 am prior to services. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
