Betty Carlton

BettyJane Vogel Carlton, 88, loving mother, grandma, great-grandma, & great-great grandma passed away February 5, 2017. She was the 3 ^rd child born to Leona & John Vogel on March 11, 1928 in Kenmore, NY.  She was raised to live a good hard working honest life in a Christian home.  She married David Anthon Carlton April 1, 1960 later solemnized in the St George Temple on June 21, 1969. David passed away February 5, 1994. Betty was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and fulfilled many callings in her various wards.   Betty liked to sew and bake for her family. She made a bunch of T-shirts for her family that was going on vacation together.  She also made some pot-holder dish towels you can hang on your stove. She liked to bake forgotten cookies and cut-out cookies for her grandchildren to help decorate at Christmas.  She also liked making peanut brittle for family and friends each year at Christmas. She loved doing lots of things for other people.

BettyJane is survived by her son, David (Donna) and 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren with 2 more babies on the way. BettyJane was preceded in death by her husband, David and grand-daughter Becky and great-grandson Jayson, parents and brother.

The family would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to all her friends and the caregivers at Legacy House of Taylorsville for how well they took care of BJ (that how she was known there). We will be having a memorial service for her there on Friday, February 10, 2017.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Thursday February 9, 2017 at the Lakeridge 3 ^rd Ward, 3151 S 7700 W, Magna. Viewings will be Wednesday February 8, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W 2700 S, Magna, and from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to services at the ward house.  Interment: Valley View Memorial Park
