Betty Fairbourn

July 8, 1931 — August 16, 2019

Betty Lucille Bevan Fairbourn returned to her Heavenly Father on August 16, 2019. She was born on July 8, 1931 to Robert John and Edythe Bevan in Bacchus Utah.

She graduated from Cyprus High School in 1949 where she was student body secretary. She married her sweetheart H. Keith Fairbourn in the Salt Lake Temple on November 17, 1950.

Betty and Keith bought a small home where they raised their four boys: Scott, Douglas, Jeffrey, and Brian. They added onto that small home over the years as their family grew, and family gatherings became wonderful traditions.

Betty enjoyed many years taking time to travel with Keith all around the world, including a yearly “snowbird” trip down to Yuma, AZ to spend time with friends and family.

In her lifetime of service, Betty served faithfully in many callings including positions in the Relief Society Presidency, as Primary President, a temple worker, and she was always a wonderful ministering sister. Family History was always very important to her, and she spent much of her spare time maintaining family records.

She was always happy to enjoy a meal with someone and opened her home to countless people. She was well known to be fun-loving and ready to have a small adventure whether it was just a trip to the store or something more special.

She was the heart of her family, and was gifted at balancing family, church, work, and homemaking. She didn’t need anything fancy to have a great time. Her meals of pot roast, cheesy potatoes, Sunday pie, or cheesecake made you feel like royalty. A full candy bowl and kool-aid ice cubes were simple pleasures to find in her home.

Her legacy of love, meals with her family, and social outreach will live on for years to come.

She is survived by her younger brother Michael, her three sons: Scott (Susan), Douglas, and Brian, four granddaughters, twelve great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her husband Keith, her son Jeffrey, her daughter in law Karen, her great-great granddaughter Kaida, her parents, and several siblings.

We know Betty is singing and dancing with all her loved ones in heaven, free from pain and is happy to be reunited with the love of her life, Keith.
