Betty Ann Viot Kern
1944 ~ 2016
In loving memory Betty Ann Viot Kern 72 passed away peacefully at home in Magna, UT and returned to her loving Heavenly Father on January 31, 2016. Betty was born January 5, 1944 in Burbank, California to Ralph Viot and Larena Jacobs. She married the love of her life William (Larry) Kern on March 27, 1965 in California later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, March 8, 1978. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she loved being a Librarian for many years. She was a very generous and giving person who would help anyone she could and has touched the lives of all those who knew her. She loved to go fishing with her family and would always brag if she caught more than her husband or the largest. Her most favorite activity was spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
Betty is survived by her husband, Larry Kern; two daughters, Teresa (Ken) Johnson; Lorie (Mike) Taylor; mother, Larena Jacobs Vredenburg; brother, Dale (Marlene) Aaron; sister, Cheren (Jerry) Marsh; 12 Grandkids and 10 Great Grandkids. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Gene Viot.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at Spencer 6th Ward, 8181 W. Breeze Dr. (3320 S.) with Bishop Jeff Maddy conducting. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8pm at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South Magna, UT and from 10-10:45am prior to the services at the church. Interment will follow at Camp Williams UT State Veterans Memorial Park.
