After his time in the military, he served as a faithful missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the New Zealand mission from 1971 to 1973. Upon returning from his mission, he married Durinda and together they raised their four children in Pride, Louisiana. Later in life, he returned to school, earned an associate degree, and became a medical laboratory technician. This career change in 1997 lead his family to Salt Lake City, Utah where he worked for the University of Utah’s Pathology Department at ARUP laboratories with the chemistry division. He worked here until his retirement in 2007.

Billy loved his Father in Heaven, his Savior Jesus Christ, his family, and his country with all his heart. He was loved in return and will be missed here on earth. However, we know there is a happy reunion as he rejoins his wife and family.
