Boyd Blanthorne

Boyd Lucas Blanthorn was born February 19, 1927 and passed away January 22, 2013. He was the son of George and Emma Lucas Blanthorn. Boyd married Ouida Nuhn on June 14, 1952 and had 3 children, Robert Boyd (Marrina) Blanthorn, Clay Nuhn (Vonda) Blanthorn and George Ann (Dale) Erickson. As a boy, Boyd worked on his family's ranch in Grouse Creek, Utah and then went onto college at Utah State University where he was a graduate in Electrical Engineering. He later received a Masters Degree in Engineering Administration from the University of Utah in 1972. Boyd and Ouida made their home in Rush Valley, Utah where they raised their family and he worked at Dugway Proving Ground. He was ordained Bishop of the Clover Ward in 1958 and served in that capacity for five years. In 1974, Boyd and Ouida then made their home in Stansbury Park. Boyd has nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and another great grandchild on the way.
Funeral Services will be held at the Stansbury Stake House Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 1 pm. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 10-12:45. Interment will be held at the Lake Point Cemetery. Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
