The world lost a shining star, breath of fresh air and a force of nature. Carolyn Kay Williams Griffith traveled on to her next adventure on Sunday, January 22, 2017. Carolyn made her debut on July 6, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Quentin Williams and Virginia Shore Williams Alldredge.
Carolyn married the love of her life, Sherman Dale Griffith on January 6, 1961. Four daughters soon joined the band and what a show it was! Carolyn loved archery. She was a national champion and she and Sherm were members of the Utah Archery Hall of Fame. She loved cheering on the University of Utah Football team and loved spending time in the garden. Carolyn loved her pets, but her greatest love was her family.
Carolyn was met on the other side by her mom and dad, Quentin and Virginia and her stepdad, Grant. The greatest reunion is with her oldest daughter, Kelly Griffith England.
Those of us left to carry on her legacy are her sweetheart, Sherman Griffith, son-in-law DeWayne England, daughters, Joan (Nathan) Hammer, Brigham City, Holly (Jeff) Langston, Lake Point, Amy Griffith, Salt Lake City, siblings Brian (Cindy) Williams, Provo, Janet Williams (best friend, really), Arvada, CO, 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, lifelong friends Frank and Jackie Warburton and the awesome Monday morning Breakfast Club.
Funeral services will be 12 noon January 28, 2017 at the Lake Point Chapel, 1366 Canyon Rd., Lake Point. Visitation will be 10:30 – 11:45 am prior to services. Interment: Lake Point Cemetery. More information at www.peelfuneralhome.com
