“Cathy”

Cathryn Richards passed away peacefully October 14, 2017 while surrounded by her family. She was born December 5, 1943 to Gaylord O. and Edith Richardson Tipton. Cathy was a long-time resident of Magna, Utah and a graduate from Cyprus High School. Cathy married Ronald Stewart Robertson in 1963 and together had 6 children, later they divorced.  She married Charles Scott Richards, Oct. 7, 1984 and inherited 3 step-children. Later they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple Oct. 7, 1996.

Cathy was an amazing wife, mom, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a heart of gold, always putting the wants and needs of family ahead of her own. Cathy had a great sense of humor and loved to make others laugh. She was an amazing cook and never turned anyone away from a Thanksgiving dinner. Her family was the light of her life and she always wanted them around her. They were her reason for living.

Cathy is survived by her children; Tammy Robertson, Trent (Tanji) Robertson, Tori Robertson, Taunia Robertson, Tiffany Mace, Douglas (Justene) Richards, Christine (Chad) Fotheringham, Blake (Sharee) Richards, 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, sister, Georgene, brother, Brent. She was preceded in death by her husband, Scott, son, Todd, brother, Gaylord.

The family wished to extend a heartfelt thank you to Fresenius Kidney Care Center and the staff at the Jordan Valley West Hospital for their compassion and care.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Friday October 20, 2017 at the West Mountain Chapel, 3665 S 8400 W, Magna, Utah. Viewings will be 6-8 pm Thursday October 19, 2017 and 10-10:45 am prior to services at the church. Interment: Pleasant Green Cemetery. Condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
