Dale E Knapton
1929-2013
Dale E. Knapton, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2013 in his West Valley City home. He was 84 years old. Dale was born May 28, 1929 to Walter and Sarah Estella Knapton in Salt Lake City, Utah. He served a mission for the LDS church in Hawaii from 1949-1951. After his mission he returned home and married his high school sweetheart, Connie Larue McComb in the Salt Lake City Temple on September 7, 1951. Dale served his country as a corporal in the US Army during the Korean War. After the war he received an Associates Degree in Accounting from LDS Business College. He became an electrical general contractor and eventually started his own company which he successfully operated until he retired. Dale loved the outdoors, camping, hunting, fishing and playing the electric guitar. His life revolved around his family, yard and garden. He never forgot a birthday or a special event. He loved the holidays and enjoyed decorating his home with elaborate Christmas lights. Dale is survived by his wife, Connie Larue McComb; his six children, Dale Lynn, Cindy (Bill) Young, Kanna (Randy) Meeks, Holly (Mel) Lemon, Pam Knapton, Heidi Knapton; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and his siblings, Kathleen Bawden, Fern Timothy and Don (Carrie) Knapton. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, stepmother and seven brothers and sisters. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved to serve others. He most recently served a two year service mission in the LDS Employment center helping others find employment. Dale and Connie would have celebrated their 62 nd wedding anniversary this September.

A viewing will be held Wednesday September 4th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Centennial Park Ward, 3372 South Merry Lane (5275 West), West Valley City, where funeral services will be held on Thursday September 5 at 12:00pm with a viewing from 11-11:45 am. Interment: Elysian Burial Gardens.Visits: 6
