June 29 , 1954 - May 6, 2014

Debra Simmons, 59, Magna Utah passed away May 6, 2014 with her family by her side. Debra will be sorely missed by her friends and family, she is preceded in death by her mother (Dorothy Mae Patterson McGowan) and father (Ralph Frances McGowan). Debra's greatest accomplishment was her family and the love she had given them. The love she showed her brothers (Gary and Michael), Daughters (Holly Porter, Brandi Porter) her son (Christopher Simmons) and her godson (Billy), her granddaughters (Emilee, Katelynn, and Taylor), her niece (Kristen) and nephews (Matt, and Ben),Her close extended family (Toshia, Tasia, Jaimie, Jackee, and Corbin), Her best friend (Nancy Cruse) family members, and many 'adopted family' members can never be replaced. Debra's kindness was contagious and touched the lives of everyone she crossed paths with, she always put everyone before herself, and absolutely no one Debra knew went hungry when they were around. Debra loved spending time with her family, listening to music, going to yard sales, caring for her granddaughters, caring for the people she knew, and caring for the house she loved. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration and remembrance of Debra's life on Saturday May 17th at 3:00 p.m. at the Sunset vista Clubhouse (8460 Sunset Hills Dr, Magna, UT 84044). In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to the Debra Simmons Memorial account at Cyprus Credit Union.
