Dennis LeRoy Fowler
1936 ~ 2020
Our loving Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather Dennis LeRoy Fowler, son of Lawrence Fowler and Bernice Mulherin left this earth to return to his loving Father in Heaven and to be reunited with his wife Shirley Harwood Fowler and children Michael Dennis, Kevin Scott and Amy LeAnn on 16 April 2020. He passed peacefully in his sleep at the age of 84.
Dennis is survived by sons Merlin LeRoy and Tracy Lyn (Leesha) and Eternal companion of Michael Dennis (Kristina); Grandchildren, Cameron West, Skip LeRoy (Erin), Haley Dawn (Ryan), Bridget Leigh (Travis), Jamie Lee, Dominik Michael, Devon Quinn, and Amy Leann and 2 Great Grandchildren with 2 more on the way.
Dennis graduated from Pocatello High in 1954 and joined the Air Force that July where he was trained as a dental technician. He received 2 certifications from Idaho state University: Drafting and design and Cosmetology.
He loved spending time with family and playing all kinds of games including board games, card games and computer games. Some of his favorites were Phase 10, Monopoly Deal, Cover your Assets and several kinds of Solitaire.
He served 2 full time missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. One at the Joseph Smith memorial Building in the Family history and extraction center and one serving at the Bishop Storehouse.
He was a dedicated genealogist and spent many long hours at the Church Family History Library and later at home on his computer researching his ancestors. At last count he had found over 70 thousand progenitors. He was excited when he found famous people he was related to such as George Washington and Joseph Smith. He has completed temple ordinances for many of his ancestors.
Dennis asked me to tell everyone he loved his Savior Jesus Christ and was looking forward to being reunited with his family that had gone home before him. I am certain he has enjoyed a great family reunion as he passed from this life to the next.
