DESSIE A PETERSON BARBER

MAGNA- Our loving mother and grandmother, Dessie A. Peterson Barber, passed away at home February 8, 2012, in Magna, Utah.  She was born December 3, 1915, in Pleasant Green, Utah, to Jerrod Grant and Esther Jemima Buck Peterson.  She married Harold LeRoy Barber on May 5, 1934, and they enjoyed 68 years together.
Dessie was fun, energet ic and always optimistic. She happily welcomed everyone into her home to sing songs, dance, enjoy long conversations and fits of laughter. She shared with her husband a love of travel, fishing, dancing and rock hunting. She often said, "I'm so lucky- I married a wonderful man and have had a great life."
Survived by daughters, Melana (Richard) Powell and Bonnie Catten; eight grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, one great, great granddaughter and "adopted sister" Beth Harwood. Preceded in death by son, Jerrod L Barber, husband, parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Monday, February 13, 2012 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna.  Visitation will be 11-11:45 am prior to services. Interment: Tooele City Cemetery. Condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
