DeWayne England, 75, passed away peacefully in his home on February 22, 2024. His faithful dog, Pepper, never left his side.
DeWayne was born in Salt Lake City, May 16, 1948 to Junior and Grace England. He grew up in Holladay, Utah and still had many friends from the old neighborhood. He graduated high school in 1966 from Skyline High School and then served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1974. He received an associates degree in Electrical Engineering from Salt Lake Community College and he retired as an electrician from Kennecott in 2013.
DeWayne married his true love Kelly Griffith in May of 1996. Sadly, Kelly passed away unexpectedly in 2014 and DeWayne waited 10 long years to be reunited with her.
DeWayne is also preceded in death by his father and mother, brother Paul England, as well as brother and sister in law Wes and Sheree England. DeWayne is also preceded in death by his beloved dogs Zoey, Tank, and Hailey.
DeWayne is survived by children Amanda and Shawn Lowe, Andrew and Laura Ellsworth, Ashley and Corey Petersen; grandchildren Gracee, Lucas, Cohen, Jameson, Dillon, Karma, Kaitlin, and Kelly; siblings Brenda and Mike Allmond, Max and Traci England, LaPree Cohoe, and Rebecca England; as well as many niece's and nephew's, and his beloved cousin Sherry Heap.
The family would also like to give a special thanks to Dewayne's caregiver Tobi, who became a great friend and comfort to him in his last months.
A viewing will be held Thursday February 29, 2024 from 6 to 8 pm at Peel Funeral Home 8525 2700 S, Magna UT. Funeral services will be held Friday March 1, 2024 at 11:00. Internment at Valley View Memorial Park.
