1952 ~ 2019

Donald Kip Robinson age 66 passed away June 19, 2019 at his home in West Valley surrounded by his loving family.

Kip was born June 23, 1952 in Salt Lake City.  He was the first child of Donald and Madalyn Robinson.    He grew up in Magna Utah attending and graduating from Cyprus High School.  He loved living in Magna and loved helping the community.  He had many successful fundraisers for the Copper Club as well as an annual Sub for Santa for the people in Magna.  If there was a “Mr. Magna” he would be that guy!   Kip later graduated from LDS Business College.  He worked for Kennecott Copper for over 30 years before retiring.  (Kip was known to have made the best flapjacks up there!)  He also managed and owned a shelving business on the side.  Anyone that knows Kip knows his love for classic cars, the Raiders and his beloved Cubbies.

Kip’s life was centered around his children, family, friends and animals.  He loved golfing, skiing and softball.  He was recently inducted into the Utah Softball Hall of Fame.  He was devoted to his family and friends throughout his life and will always be remembered for his loyalty and kindness and his willingness to help others. He loved his 3 daughters and grandchildren very much and he would do anything for them.  They have many heartfelt memories of him and considerate it an honor to have cared for their Dad when he needed help.  He was a great source of strength to them.   Kip was a dedicated caretaker for his grandson who has Autism.

Kip is survived by a loving family and a multitude of caring friends.

A celebration of life will be held in his honor, at the Copper Club Golf Course, located at 8975 West 2600 South, Magna, Utah on Thursday June 27, 2019 from 6-9:00 p.m.

The family asks if you have a story or picture to bring a copy of this memory that will be made into a book.

The family would like to thank the many healthcare providers for their care. But special thanks to Dr. John Hayes, Heather Campbell APRN, Jason Crook APRN, Dr Scott Samuelson, Dr Justin Parkinson and Charlene Stephens RN.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be sent to Trans West Credit Union, Magna Branch – 9024 W Magna Main St., Magna, Utah 84044, to help with Kippy’s Special Needs school fund.
