"Don't wake us without our coffee"

Donald was born on February 25, 1936 and he passed on to a better life on March 22, 2011. Don was preceded in death by his loving wife, Karla Spencer Thornton.

Don is survived by his children: Donna (Paul ) Marchand, Jodi (Eric) Nelson, Mikal (Joan) Thornton, Mitchel Thornton,  Boyd Nelson, Sherry (Jed) Jenson, Ronnette Knight; Grandchildren: Misty, Sunni, Nikole, Joseph, Matthew, Riane, Keith, Deverie, Jennifer, Stefani, Tony, Shawn, Kristen, Derek, Patience, Shelby, Jacklyn, Angela; Great Grandchildren:  Jaimee, Conner, Madelyn,  Samantha, Ciera, Tek, Kyler, Lily, Joseph, Michael, Savannah, Piper, Bailey.

Don served in the US Military during the Korean War serving from 1954 until he retired from the Navy in 1976. Don created beautiful leather work, and teased his kids by never letting them know who was going to get the finished item! His happiest times were spent with Karla on their property in Duchesne. We know Don can now ride the 7 seas, and stop off often to pick asparagus along the river with Karla, and even haul rocks so she can finish building her fence. He will be remembered with love by his family.

A gathering will be held Saturday, March 26, 2011 from 1-3 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., Magna.  Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2011 at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 S. Camp Williams Rd.  Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
