DORA MAE SHIRLEY WESTERN

1923 - 2010

Dora Mae Shirley Western, 87, passed away July 9, 2010 at Pioneer Valley Hospital.  She was born Jan. 25, 1923 in Keo, Arkansas to Thomas Andrew Shirley and Florence Irene Coker.  She was raised in Arkansas the oldest of nine children.   On February 13, 1945 she married Roysten L. Western, Sr. in Little Rock, Arkansas.  He passed away Mar. 29, 1997.  Together they raised six children.

Mae was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She loved to be outdoors and was never happier than when she was fishing.  She loved to garden and canned what was harvested to share with her children.  She made many quilts to give to her family.  Most of all she loved her family and loved to have them around her. She was a kind and generous mother.

She is survived by four children, Ross L., Jr. (Raylene), Jeffery James (Gabrielle), Doris Jean (Robert) Allred and Phil Clark (Kathy).  She was loved by 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, and 2 sons, Thomas Dee and Wesley Wayne.

Graveside services will be held Tues., July 13 th , 2010, 12 noon, at Valley View Memorial Park.  Friends and family may call Tues., 10:30-11:30 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 So., Magna.  Online condolences:  www.peelfuneralhome.com
