Durinda Sigrest

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, Durinda Ann Phenald Sigrest passed from this life on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at her home in Magna, Utah, after a yearlong struggle with cancer.  She was born on April 11, 1953, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  She lived her life in Pride, Louisiana, until 1997, when she and her family moved to Utah.

Durinda was preceded in death by her father, Leslie Tyler Phenald; brother, Leslie Lee Phenald; grandparents  William T. & Annie R. Pullam Brown, and Ernest & Mattie Hanna Phenald; father-in-law & mother-in-law, James L. & Gladys Sumrall Sigrest; and niece, Stacey Lynn Taylor.

Durinda is survived by husband, Billy W. Sigrest; mother, Willie Lee Brown Phenald; children, Jason (Marcie) Sigrest, Jamie (Megan) Sigrest, Jodi Sigrest (Alan Powell), and Jessica (Benjamin) Winterton;  grandchildren, Tyler, Joslynn, Janae, & Jesse Sigrest; Collin, Landon, & Kaylee Sigrest, and AbbygailClaire & ElijahJon Winterton;  siblings, Phyllis Taylor; DD (Donna) Phenald; Jim (Louell) Phenald; many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Durinda was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she valiantly fulfilled many callings to serve our Savior, Jesus Christ.  She loved her Father in Heaven, her Savior, Jesus Christ, and her family with all of her heart.

Visitation will be at the LDS Elk Run building, West Mountain Ward, Magna, Utah, on Monday, March 2, 2015, 6-8 pm; and at the LDS Pride Ward Chapel, 16135 Milldale Road, Zachary. Louisiana, on Saturday, March 7, 2015, 10:30 am - 12 pm, with funeral service immediately following.  Interment at Pride Cemetery.
