Edward John Cannon
1955 - 2012
On April 18, 2012, the best dad, husband, son and brother, Edward John Cannon passed away after a heroic battle with cancer. He was ailed with Pulmonary Fibrosis for 16 years and last year he was further burdened with a diagnosis of an aggressive cancer. He fought courageously to stay with his family, but on Wednesday the struggle ended. Eddie was born on July 4, 1955 to Bernice and William Cannon. On May 15, 1981 Eddie married Bonnie Montague and they later had 3 beautiful children, Brooke Stamm (Joseph), Carmen Cannon, and Alisha Cannon. He was extremely proud of all of their accomplishments and he loved his wife and children very much. It was a blessing that the last words spoken by Eddie to his wife and three daughters was "I Love you" accompanied by a kiss. Eddie enjoyed growing up in the close-knit town of Magna and always enjoyed dragging Magna Main in his polished silver Trans AM. He made it a priority to call his mother everyday and just before his passing gave her a great big smile to show his love. He was appreciative of his family ties to Hawaii and found tranquility in his one true paradise, Oahu. Eddie quickly adopted the Hawaiian style by always wearing a Hawaiian shirt and flashing the "hang loose" sign. He loved being outside and was dedicated to taking care of the yard. You could always find Eddie in the garage sitting in his lounge chair, cherishing the beautiful days. Eddie is preceded in death by father, William Cannon. He is survived by mother, Bernice Cannon; brothers, Brian (Becky) and Bill (Marcia); wife; and daughters. Eddie and his family would like to thank long time friend, Mary Tuttle, Dr. Patricia L. Nelson, the University of Utah Pulmonary Rehab Team, Utah Cancer Specialists and FLSmidth along with his gracious bosses and co-workers. Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Monday, April 23, 2012 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., where friends and family may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. and Monday 11-11:45 a.m. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
