1934 ~ 2014

Elaine Ekenstam Mirabella, born April 22, 1934, passed from this life to a better place on January 30, 2014. She passed away in her home in Magna, Utah after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. Elaine was the daughter of Carl and Edna Ekenstam of Tooele, UT. She graduated from Tooele High School in 1952 where she developed her love for jazz music, dancing and cheerleading. She married her sweetheart, Ernie Mirabella July 16, 1955. Together they enjoyed traveling, playing golf, and each other's company all the years of her life, Elaine worked for Tooele Army Depot, Westminster College, Dixon Paper and Smiths Faux. However, she found the greatest joy in raising her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed and loved her dogs, Toby and Chin. Elaine is survived by her husband, Ernie; two children, Keri Mirabella and Len Mirabella (Luke Ludden); 2 grandchildren, Brandan (Meagan) Booth and Blair (Jeff) Underwood; 4 great grandchildren, Easten, Paislee, Chase, and Corah; sister, blanche Stratton; sister-in-law, Rose Keith; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Glen and Dean Ekenstam. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Huntsman Cancer Institute, especially the nurses and staff in the Bone Marrow Transplant Clinic.

Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 W. 4100 S. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Our Lady of Lourdes Building Fund, 2840 S. 9000 W., Magna, UT 84044.
