Elsie Mae Briden Edwards
1935 – 2018
Our beautiful beloved wife, mother, sister, grandma, aunt and friend passed away August 18, 2018. Elsie was born April 3, 1935 in Peculiar, Missouri to Nellie Mae Hook-Briden and Charlie Mat Briden. She grew up around Peculiar and Drexel, MO. She graduated from Drexel High School in 1953. She always worked as a secretary until retiring in 1993. Elsie always had a smile for everyone she met. She loved all animals and loved to travel. Elsie married her best friend and love of her life, Buster Edwards at the Raytown Baptist Church in Raytown, MO on August 30, 1969.
She is survived by her husband, Buster Edwards; her five grandchildren, Jeremy Daddow, Travis Daddow, Carmen Daddow, Jessica Stables and Andrew Stables; with five great-grandchildren; six step children, Joe & Janice Sciarrotta, Mitch & Carol Edwards, Kimberly Worral, Deanna Whaley and Joel & Julie Edwards; 26 step grandchildren and 24 step great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Kitty Cole-Fountain, Carol Sue Gideon, Joan Call; and brother, Charles Briden all of Deepwater, MO. Also, numerous nieces and nephews.
Elsie was preceded in death by her two beautiful daughters, Cindy Mae Daddow and Janet Leora Beeman who she loved with all her heart and missed every day. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Nellie Mae Briden; father Charlie Briden; her brothers, Marvin Briden and Jimmy Briden; and sister, Elva Perry.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 22nd from 6-8pm at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W 2700 S. Magna, UT. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, MO, with a viewing Saturday 10 a.m. at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO.
