Evelyn Barnes Kemp

1930 - 2012

Evelyn Barnes Kemp, our enduring mom, passed from this mortal life on Aug. 30, 2012 surrounded by family.  Born May 27, 1930 in Downey, Idaho to Myron William and Stella Clark Barnes. Married Oral Joseph Kemp Oct. 2, 1949; sealed June 9, 1959 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  Oral died June 8, 1991 and they are now reunited in eternity. Mom was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many positions faithfully. Spending time with her family was the highlight of her life.  Survived by their five children, Loralie Rigby, Oral J. "Joe" Jr. (Heidi) Kemp, Karma (Kerry) Griguhn, Rex Val (Stephanie) Kemp, and Bette Jo "BJ" Kemp; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 2 more waiting in the wings. Mom was the last surviving child of Myron and Stella.  Preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dale and Max; and sisters, Luetta, LaRue, and Marlene. Mom is now having the most wonderful family reunion imaginable.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the Lake Ridge 9 ^th Ward, 7825 W. Sharon Dr. (3340 S.)  Friends and family may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., and Wednesday 10-10:45 a.m. at the church.  Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.  Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
