Gary Robert Monteer passed away at home in Magna, Utah on Sunday July 24, 2022.
Gary was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 15th, 1939, to Clarence Robert Monteer and Virginia May Thompson Monteer.
He married Dixie Jayne Stewart on September 9, 1957. They spent over 52 years together, supporting each other and enjoying the ride of life.
He is survived by his children, Tamera, (Rick) Hardin, Gary (Chris) Monteer, Raelynn Mickelson, Candis (Steve) Beck, and Mark Monteer, as well as 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
His calm, intelligent, hardworking life provided all that was needed to raise and support his beautiful family.
He worked for KCC/Rio Tinto for over 40 years as a Millwright and following his retirement he drove a semi part-time, refueling Maverick gas stations from Salt Lake to Las Vegas.
He used his athletic abilities enjoying his family, water skiing, snowmobiling, motorcycling, fishing, and camping.
His most enjoyable time was spent traveling with his sweetheart Dixie, from southern Utah to the Oregon coast for over a decade.
We can hardly imagine the reunion with those who proceeded him in death, his wife Dixie Jayne, brother Dennis, sister Joan, and his parents.
“We Love You Dad”
