1924 - 2012

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, Geraldine "Jo" Nixon Rogers passed away January 15, 2012.  She was born December 27, 1924 in Holden, Utah to Ira and Elza Hunter Nixon.  She married John D. Rogers June 14, 1943; their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.  He died February 15, 2008.

Jo was an accomplished gardener.  She enjoyed hand crafts, traveling, and reading, and she dearly loved her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Sammie K. Rogers, Gerrie (Lynn) Smith, Tony (Zenda) Rogers, and Keith (Janie) Rogers; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband, and 2 brothers.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2012 at the Magna Central Stake Center, 8181 W. 3320 S., where friends and family may call both Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday 10-10:45 a.m.  Interment: Holden Cemetery, Friday 3 p.m.  Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
