Gerry Martin Peel

1928 ~ 2015

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, Geraldine Martin Peel passed away in her home with her family by her side May 9, 2015 after a 7 month struggle with cancer. Mom was born March 6, 1928 in Salt Lake City, UT to Glen Beck and Mabel Sjoblom Martin. She was raised in Magna, UT and graduated from Cyprus High School. She married F. Dee Peel February 19, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and together they had 8 children. Dad passed away August 24, 2005. She was an active member of the LDS church and felt blessed to serve along with dad in the Dallas Texas Temple Mission. Mom was an amazing homemaker excelling in cooking, sewing, quilting and housekeeping. She had a tremendous ability to plan and cater a party. She loved the family cabin and time spent there, and truly cherished her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Debbie, Tommy (Denny), Tim (Marilyn), Beckie (Mike) Southwick, Court (Ginger), Shellie (Jeff) Anderson, Brint (Lisa), and Candie (Matt) Petty; 24 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren; brothers and sister, Shirrel (Barbara) Martin, Glen Martin, Barbara (Wayne) Fullmer; and sisters-in-law, June Martin and Wanda Beck. Preceded in death by husband; parents; brother, Hollis Martin; brother-in-law, Lloyd Beck; and sister-in-law, Janice Martin.

We would like to express a very special thanks to Brigitte Hansen, her hospice nurse and Dr. Grant Hawkins for their loving care.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the Crescent 16th Ward, 275 E. 10600 S. Viewing will be held Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W.
