April 25th, 1965 – May 22nd, 2022
Gino “Cheno” Maestas age 57 of Salt Lake City, UT left us unexpectedly May 22, 2022. Cheno was born in Montrose Colorado to Russell Maestas and Rosalie Jaramillo-Choperena. Cheno loved to spend his time watching the Denver Broncos and being with his “Little Loco” his love for his mi familia is indescribable he was always telling them to “keep it 106%” He loved his daughter Shelina his “angel princess” she was his pride and joy. Carm, his “BJB” brought him so much happiness the last eight years. They loved each other deeply and unconditionally. He missed his mother Rosalie “Mi Vida Corozon”, and we are grateful they are reunited.
Survived by his beloved daughter, Shelina Maestas-Hopkins (Kc); stepdaughter, Karina (Jose Flores); sister, Jennie Choperena (Noah); companion, Carmen “Brown Jellybean”; God daughter, Destynee Rios (Jessica); niece, Ashley Batalla (Elias); his granddaughters. Kayzlee “Precious Marisol” and Sagelynn “Mi Mariposa”, Kapri, and Miiyah; and many nieces and nephews.
He was welcomed into the loving arms of his parents, Russell Maestas & Rosalie Jaramillo-Choperena; brothers, Alex & Leo; niece Lucianna, wife, Sera; and all his “homeboys”.
Viewing will be held Saturday June 4th from 12:00-1:00 PM,
following immediately after there will be a rosary prayer from 1:00-2:00 PM
