Gladys Ivie Bates

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on Mother’s Day May 8, 2022.  She was born October 18, 1940 in Heber, UT to Mildred Faye Taylor and Earl Ivie.   She married Melvin Earl Bates August 8, 1959.   Mom was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She actively held many callings and served faithfully.   She always told us that her favorite calling was visiting teaching.  She loved the Lord and her family.  She dedicated her life unto Christ.

Gladys is survived by her 3 daughters, Sherrie (Jon) Covert, Sandra (Richard) Farley, Shauna Gilmore; 11 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 brothers and one great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held in her honor Thursday May 12, 2022  from 6pm - 8 pm at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W 2700 S Magna, UT 84044.

Funeral services with Zoom will be held Friday May 13, 2022 at 11:00 am with viewing 10:00 -10:45 am at the LDS Pleasant Green Ward house 8739 W. 3000 S. Magna, UT 84044.
