Our Beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather Glenn “T” Robb Passed away at his home on December 14,2021 of heart failure.
Glenn was born on July 10, 1943, in Provo, Utah, to Elton Simmons Robb and Ruth Tippetts, the second of five children. The family lived in Tacoma, Washington, during WWII while Elton was a welder on the Liberty ships.
Glenn served his church as a missionary in the Great Lakes Mission. Later in life, he was ordained a Seventy as a missionary and served as a ward and stake missionary. He loved working with the missionaries and teaching the Gospel, and he would not give up the calling of ward and stake missionary until he was ordained a High Priest.
He loved his country and served it three different times in his life. He enlisted in the Army Reserve in the 1960’s with a reserve unit in Pleasant Grove, Utah, once in the National Guard as a cook from 1985 to 1994, and as a staff sergeant in the Army Reserve from 1994 to 1995.
Glenn married Dianne Greaves and had two daughters, Cory and Amy. After their divorce, Glenn met and fell in love with his sweetheart, Julie Ann Tyner, and they married November 30,1973, later being sealed in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. Together, Glenn and Julie had four children, and raised them in West Valley City, Utah.
Along with being a ward and stake missionary, Glenn held many callings as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served as a Boy Scouts leader, Sunday School teacher, activities chairperson, first and second counselor in the Bishopric, and ward and stake genealogist. As a priesthood holder, he was always willing to give a blessing anytime someone asked, day or night.
Glenn loved being a husband, father, and grandfather. He loved teasing, tickling, singing silly songs out of tune, and reading to his children and, later, his grandchildren.
Integrity and honesty were Glenn’s core values. Once, he saw a $50 bill on the floor of the grocery store and took it to the service desk, saying that someone would be needing it for their children. The woman who dropped the money sent Glenn a “thank you” card, telling him how she had been frantic upon losing it because she wouldn’t be able to buy food and milk for her children. She expressed how grateful she was that someone honest had found the money and turned it in.
As an avid hunter, fisherman, and sports fan, Glenn would drop any “honey-do list” Julie had for him if he got a call from his dad asking if he wanted to go hunting, fishing, chop wood for the fireplace, or to a BYU basketball or football game.
As his body declined and he was no longer able to do the physical outdoors activities he enjoyed, he continued to read and study the scriptures. He loved the scriptures and could read them in their entirety five times a year.
On December 14, 2021, he died at his home in West Valley City, Utah, and joined his mother, father, brother-in-law Don Gibbons and nephew, Daniel Scow in Heaven.
He is survived by his wife, Julie, and their four children, Elton John, Jeremy Todd (Kristal), Hyrum Seth (Andria), and Hollie Ruth, his daughters, Corinna (John) and Amy, and seven grandchildren, as well as his sisters Mirriam Gibbons, Patricia (Stewart) Scow and brother Robert (Della). And Jean (Leonard) Shoell
We are so grateful to Heartwood Hospice Charter Group, and especially to Dr. Bort, the day nurse Alec, CNA Roal, case worker Lindsie, Chaplin Steve, and his sweet night nurse Rita, who cried so tenderly with us at Glenn’s passing.
Our hearts are breaking, and we’ll miss this giant of a man among men, who, we know, is loving doing missionary work again.
Until we meet again.
