Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Gracia Salas de Castro, passed away, unexpectedly but peacefully, in her home on Friday, February 20, 2015, in Magna, Utah at the age of 70.
Gracia is survived by her husband Juan and children: (son/nephew) Fabian (Diane), Juan Marcelo (Valeska), Carolina (Cameron), Mitzy (Ben), Amy (Ken) and Axel (Kasey), by her 19 grandchildren, and by her siblings, Julia Salas and Aquiles Toledo. Gracia is preceded in death by her daughter, Gracia, her parents, Marcelo and Maria, and siblings Miguel, Rolando Arturo, Francisco, Luisa, Marcelo, Eugenio and Leda of Santiago, Chile.
Gracia was born June 13th, 1944, in Buin, Chile. She married Juan Castro 48 years ago and lived a happy life dedicating her love and sweet kindness to her husband, children and grandchildren until the very end. Gracia served, with her husband Juan, as Mission President in the Chile Osorno Mission from 1987 to 1990, and continued serving the Lord in many other callings in the LDS Church. Gracia touched the life of all around her, with her kind spirit and talent of unconditional love. We will always miss her.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. February 28, 2015 at the Magna Stake Center, 3084 S 8400 W, Magna. Viewings will be 6-8 pm, Friday, February 27, 2015 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W 2700 S, Magna and 10-10:45 am at the church prior to services. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Gracia’s life.
