Helen Hardy Reid Jones

1917 ~ 2016

Our sweet mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, Helen Hardy Reid Jones, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 25, 2016, in South Jordan, Utah.

She was born on November 29, 1917, in Magna, Utah, the second of eight children born to Albert and Florence Phoebe Hardy Reid. Helen attended local schools and graduated from Cyprus High in 1935. She married her childhood sweetheart, Harvey William Jones on December 16, 1936. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.

Helen gave many years of service to her family, her church and her community. She and her husband served in the England Bristol Mission as well as the Jordan River Temple. Helen served faithfully in many ward and stake callings. Her favorite times were those spent with her family.

Helen is survived by daughters; Marjorie (Gaynor) Pearson, Kathleen (Kent) Bowen, Shirley Fowlks, son, William H. “Bill” (Shauna) Jones, 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and son-in-law, Ned Fowlks.

Special thanks to the care givers at Carrington Court Assisted Living Center, and Inspiration Hospice, especially “Nurse Natalie”, for their loving care of our mom.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the LDS Ward 8181 W Breeze Dr. (3320 S), Magna. Visitations will be at the church 6-8 pm Friday and 11-11:45 am Saturday prior to services. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
