Helen "Nessa Love" Powell

Helen Irma Loveless Powell (aka Nessa Love) passed away on April 1, 2024 at the age of 62. Helen is preceded in death by her first husband Jeff Alderson and by her beloved son Phillip K. Powell Jr. Helen is survived by her husband Phil Powell, daughter Alicia Eskola and granddaughter Isabella.

Helen was born on August 1, 1961 in Seattle, King County, Washington.  She was raised in West Seattle until her family moved to Salt Lake City in 1964.  The family returned to live in Kirkland, Washington in 1977, where she met and later married Jeff Alderson.  Her daughter Alicia Rose Alderson was born on November 8, 1978.

Helen later married Phil Powell and their son Phillip K. Powell Jr. was born on June 18, 1982.   Helen and her family returned to live in the greater Salt Lake area in 2002 residing in Kearns for more than 20 years.

Helen enjoyed writing, especially letters to friends and family.  As a youth she wrote to pen pals all over the world.   As technology advanced and social media became available, Helen continued her hobby touching the hearts of many.  Helen was a passionate dog lover and was inseparable from her pugs.  

The joy of her life was her husband, children and granddaughter.
