Jack E. Duke passed into the arms of our Heavenly Father on July 10 2023. Upon his passing, he was surrounded and supported by his family and the people that he loved. Jack was the son of Amasa Marion and Marcia Louise Duke. He was the last surviving member of the Duke clan’s children. His siblings were Rodney, Sharon, Nancy, and Marion “Spike” Duke. Jack had 2 wives, Annicka Carlson, and Lani Phelps. Being the “Hound Dog” our beloved father was, he had 6 children: Jacqualine Michelle, Jeri, Justin E., Jason A., Danielle (Jay), and Colby (Zach). From his children, he had fifteen grandchildren who were his pride and joy.
Jack loved and enjoyed several sports, he was an excellent football player, wrestler, and boxer. He also had many accomplishments in his life. After graduating, Jack joined the Army where he served proudly in the Vietnam war. After returning from the war Jack worked various jobs, including a career with Kennecott.
Jack loved machinery and collectables. He was active in car clubs, where he loved to show off his 1962 Ford Galaxy convertible. The license plate frame says “Loud Pipes Save Lives” which was also evident in his deep, booming, baritone, voice.
Jack was incredibly proud of his stunning brood. Stating confidently, “They are Dukes!” after many a home run, goal, pin, or great tackle. Jack enjoyed hearing all about his grandchildren’s many accolades and various interests.
