Jack Eden

Jack Ray Eden loved and was loved.  He was born July 2, 1941 to Joseph William and Ida Ellen Giles Eden in Salt Lake and raised in Magna, Utah. He left this life at the age of 77  January 12, 2019 the youngest of 6 children.  Bill Eden (Ardella), Nelda (Grant Brown), Russell, Ronnie, Deloris Rigby.  All preceded him in death.

Jack loved growing up running on the foot hills of Magna in the summer and sledding down them in the winter with his best friends J. and Ken.  He loved the good people of that town and was so happy to tell great stories about all his adventures.  He Attended Webster Elementary, Brockbank Jr., Cyprus High and Utah Technical College.

He enjoyed playing basketball and baseball but loved fishing, camping, hunting and the ranch.   He believed God lived in the mountains because they were His most beautiful creations.  He married his high school sweetheart Peggy Clark in the beautiful Clark yard, and they were later sealed in the L.D.S. Salt Lake Temple.  They had been married 58 years at the time of his passing.   They were blessed to raise 4 of their 5 children.  Terri (Tim Mills), Dan Eden, Gordon Eden (deceased), Patty (Michael Mark), Connie Eden, 13 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren with 2 more on the way.    Jack considered his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to be his greatest accomplishments.  Nothing brought him more joy than to see their smiling faces.

Jack worked 35 years at the Kennecott Garfield Smelter.  He loved the good men he worked alongside.  They were not just co-workers they were brothers.

Jack and Peggy bought a ranch after retirement and loved to spend as much time as possible there with family and friends.  He fought a 16-year battle with diabetes before it ended his life way too soon.  We'll miss you so much Sweetheart.

The Eden family wish to thank all the loving hands who were so much help through it all and Encompass hospice care who were wonderful at the end.

Services will be 12 noon Saturday Jan. 26, 2019 at Hunter 1 Ward, 3665 South 6000 West, West Valley City.  Friends may call Friday 6-8 pm at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West Magna Main St. (2700 South) and 11-11:45 at the church prior to services.  Internment: Valley View Memorial Park.
