JAMES WILLIAM BROADWELL
October 21, 1945 – November 26, 2021
James “Jim” Broadwell joined his daughter, Jaki on November 26th, 2021 peacefully in his home.
Jim was a United State Marine Corps veteran who proudly and honorably served his country in the Vietnam war.
After completing his Bachelor’s degree in Police Science at Southern Utah State College, (now Southern Utah University), he joined the Parowan Police Department, eventually becoming Police Chief.
Jim was born in Compton, California and grew up in Lakewood, California. Jim moved to Salt Lake City over forty years ago, before eventually settling and remaining in West Valley City, Utah.
Jim loved sports, particularly football, and was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. His love of football drove him to spearhead the creation of the Hunter Little League Football Program which remains to this day. Jim also donated his time as a football and baseball coach which allowed him to impact hundreds of youth, including some of his own children.
Jim is survived by his wife Pat, and his children Jason (Jordan, Jerzie), Jeremy (Mason, Sadie, Tarrick, Porscha, Maverick), Jim (Diana, Julie), Jaki (Avery), Jennifer (Sonny, Ben, Sammy), and Joey (Marelin).
