JANICE LATHAM GEORGE

1963 ~ 2021

In loving memory of Janice Latham George, age 58, who passed away on October 14, 2021, in Ogden, Utah.  She was born June 4, 1963, to William James and Jennie Mae Rasmussen Latham in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She married Mark Aaron George on March 22, 1996, in the Jordan River Temple.

Janice loved crafts, especially crocheting.  She crocheted many blankets for the babies of friends and family.  She also donated baby blankets to local hospitals.  She enjoyed giving presents.  She loved camping and fishing with her husband, Mark.  She always liked it when she caught more fish than he did at one of their favorite places, Mirror Lake.  She loved her dogs Daisy and Kiya.  She also loved little children, especially her nieces and nephews.  She had a talent for playing the piano, and she was known for her chocolate chip cookies.

Janice graduated from Cyprus High School, class of 1981.  She also attended UB Tech and Salt Lake Community College.  She played the piano for primary, relief society, and sacrament meeting.  She also taught nursery and Sunday school.

Janice is survived by her husband, Mark George; her sisters, Karen Uresk, JoAnn (Wendell) Hurst, Lois (Gary) Uresk; her brother, Brian (Kellie) Latham; her sisters-in-law, Jenifer Richards and Laura (Rich) Dixon; and her many nieces and nephews.

Janice is preceded in death by parents, William and Jennie Latham; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Marilyn George; her sister, Carol Latham; her brother-in-law, Stephen Uresk; and her nephew, Thomas Hurst.

We appreciate the loving care provided to her by all the medical staff at McKay Dee Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at the Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West Main Street (2700 South) Magna, Utah.  Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at the Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.
