Janice Evangeline Lehman

Janice Evangeline Lehman, 83, passed away February 3, 2025 at the home of her son, Michael and his wife, Sheri, in Grantsville, Utah.

Born on May 13, 1941, Janice was the fifth child born to James and Delores Bailey in Warwick, Rhode Island. She loved to read and as a child could often be found curled up with a good book in a corner of the local drug store where her father worked or in a nook of the local library where her mother volunteered. Growing up, Janice and her five sisters loved to sing. They sang while they did the dishes and joined their mother around the piano to sing as she played. She graduated from Warwick Veterans Memorial High School and worked for a jewelry company for a short time.

On November 19, 1961, Janice married the love of her life, her “Bobby.” They had five children whom they cherished and diligently taught to love the Lord and others, both through instruction and their own example. She shouldered a great portion of the work at home while her husband ran his own business. Janice continued to sing throughout her life, and her home was filled with nursery lullabies, hymns, and whimsical ditties. She had the patience of Job and tirelessly supported her family in their every endeavor. 

Janice was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings in her ward. Later in life she also served in the Boston Massachusetts Temple with her husband. Janice was kind and compassionate and had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved to rib people and was just as good-natured when the teasing came her way. Janice inspired those around her to embrace life and to not take themselves too seriously.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Jimmy, and her husband, Robert. She is survived by her children Tamra (Robert) Nelson, August (Tamara) Lehman, Michael (Sheri) Lehman, Nicole (Alan) Parks, Rebekah (Jared) Fasteson, thirty five grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren, her four sisters (Joyce, Joan, Judy, Jennifer) and one brother, John. 

She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed! Until we meet again!

Services for Janice will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at the LDS chapel at 410 Shelley Lane in Grantsville. There will be a viewing from 10-10:50 am with the services to start at 11:00 am.
