Jannelle Johnson passed away unexpectedly on January 13, 2015. She is now at peace and happy to be reunited with her parents and brothers. She was born as Kenneth Roger Tate to Boyd R. Tate and Orvilla Johnson Bockholt on January 5, 1950. Jannelle grew up in the Draper and Layton areas, graduated from Davis High, served 2 years in the Great Lakes mission for the LDS Church, and joined the Navy Reserves. Ken married his sweetheart Susann Johnson in 1973. They were married for 23 years.
Jannelle joins her parents Orvilla Bockholt, Thelma Tate, Boyd R. Tate, and Richard Bockholt and her brothers, Tommy and Rick Tate. She leaves behind her children: Heather & Nate Pentico and Faith & Jeff McMackin, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, siblings: Tana & Niels Fugal, Brian & Marla Tate, Karon Haraldson, Leah & Carl Allen, Darrell & Jennifer Tate, Julie Reynolds, Cindy & Brian Cunningham, Lanette & Jim Powell, Robert & Glynneth and Joe Bockholt; as well as her step-mother Berta Bockholt and her children, Frank and Sieglinde Walker.
Jannelle had a fun sense of humor and an infectious smile. She loved learning new things, drawing, and visiting with friends and family. She enjoyed playing the guitar, keyboard, harmonica, and was learning to play the Clarinet. Her interests ranged from jet engines to ancient hieroglyphics to the space-time continuum. She wrote poetry and told great stories. Jannelle, we love you and will miss our long conversations about everything and nothing.
A viewing will be held on January 21 st at 11:00 a.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna. Memorial services will follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be at Lake Hills Memorial Park.
