Jeffrey “Jeff” Ray Potter was born April 22, 1955 to Ronald Jay Potter and Elisabeth Silvia Ruckert Potter in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jeff attended Kearns High and graduated 1973, where he met Betty Roberts and they later married in 1975. Together they had one Daughter (Jennifer Potter) and one Granddaughter (Lorren Birch).
Jeff started his career at Ken Garff Mercedes-Benz where he made lifelong friends. He later moved onto Werner’s Mercedes and continued to make friends that would last a lifetime, who would keep showing up until the end.
Jeff was loved and respected by so many, you can not name them all. Jeff always had a story to tell of camping with his Grandparents, his Parents and Brothers. He continued this and will always have a place at mile marker 18.
On every ride up East Canyon he could point out the spots he hunted with his Dad along the way. He had a story to tell of every lake he fished in the Uintas, every hiking trail he hiked and knew every turn off mirror lake highway. He could tell you where the turn led and the memory he had of it. He could always be found in his yard watering, planting something new or something old that was harvested from his Parents yard or planting a garden.
When he was not bragging about his granddaughter Lorren, they were making bird houses, playing a sport or making a dessert. To her, he was always “Jeff” because he was different and better than just “Grandpa”.
Jeff’s heart was so big and he was always willing to help where he could, was honest and strong. He was the one that could always be counted on. He was a loyal Husband and the type of Dad whose shoes were too big to be filled. We were very lucky to have him for any amount of time that we did. Jeff will be forever remembered and loved.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 starting at 4:00pm.
