Jeffrey Lance Redmond (RedDog), 64, passed away December 5, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born October 15, 1957 in Salt Lake City to Jerry and Mardee Redmond. The second of seven children, he was raised in Magna, Utah.

He married Denise George (later divorced) and they had a son, Jeffrey Redmond. He married Joni Powell August 30, 2008. They lived in St. George for many years before returning to Magna. Jeff loved to hunt, shoot and fish, skills that he learned from his father. While growing up he spent many happy days with his family camping, hiking and fishing in the Uinta Mountains. Jeff was a bird man, having tamed many hawks and owls.

He worked at Kennecott Copper Corporation for 12 years and then worked construction, specializing in cement work. He could even be called a Cement Whisperer. He was an artist and a comedian. He could bring a smile to your face with his on-the-spot humor. Jeff had a heart of gold and was willing to help anyone in need. Jeff was always on the move, whether by car, truck, bus, bike or his own two legs, he would find a way to get where he needed to be.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father Marvin Jerry Redmond and his grandparents. Survived by his wife Joni Redmond, son Jeffrey (April) Redmond, stepson Gary Peterson, mother Sally Mardee Redmond and his four sisters and two brothers, Sally Best, Lugene Hunter, Quinn (Elizabeth) Redmond, Deanna (Brian) McNary, Derek (Angela) Redmond, Elizabeth (Brett) Jepson, 4 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.

A viewing will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Viewing and services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8181 West Breeze Drive, Magna, Utah. Interment following the services at the Valley View Cemetery, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.
