JERALD DEE ROYER

Husband (caregiver to his bride of 63 years), dad, grandpa, uncle, and friend passed away on April 4, 2014 of a brain tumor. Born June 28, 1931 to George Thomas and A. LaPreal Condie Royer. Married Stella Pauline Worthen on August 26, 1950.

Big Jer loved to walk and explore new places. He would then share his findings with family and friends. He loved working with wood and making projects. Once his macular degeneration worsened, he mainly made his cherished canes and walking sticks. He loved people and enjoyed his friends, family, and especially his grandkids/great grandkids. How he loved to tell stories, spend time with company and go on road trips. His warm smile, laugh, sense of humor, strength, incredible memory, and kind disposition made everyone around him feel welcomed and comforted.

Survived by his wife, children; Jerry (Trixie) Royer, Shirley Johnston, Joyce (Mark) Davis, Neil (Kris) Royer, sister, Georgia (Dixie) Rudman, Brother in law, Orson (Ruby) Worthen, sister-in-law, Shirley (Dale) Morrill, 2 sisters-in-law who were like daughters after living with mom and dad at such a young age; L.C. Hatch and Donna Marshall, 16 Grandchildren, 40 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild.

Preceded in death by parents, sons; Richard and Tom Royer, sister, Betty Wilcox, brother, George (Buke) Royer, grandson, Trevor "TJ" Davis, great grandson, Anthony Brimhall.

A special thank you to Silverado Hospice for all of their care - Josh was incredible with dad. Also thanks to Dr. Cohen and his staff at the Huntsman's Cancer Center.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Tuesday April 8, 2014 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna. Visitations will be 6-8 pm Monday April 7, 2014 and 12 - 12:45 pm Tuesday prior to services at the mortuary. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
