Jesse Lee Christensen loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away January 23, 2013. Jesse was born July 16, 1928 in Moroni, Utah to Leland Justin and Evelyn Rose Jackson Christensen, and was later sealed to Leland and Vonita Christensen. He married his sweetheart Beverly Joy Burrell on February 8, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their home in Magna, Utah where they were blessed with eight children. Jesse was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a Temple worker in the Salt Lake and Jordan River Temples for 23 years. He worked for and retired from Kennecott Copper. His favorite pastimes were reading Louie L'Amour books and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joy; his children, Diane (Jack) Sellers, Susan (Bill) Burch, Judy (Wade) Coon, Bryan Christensen, Brett Christensen, Sharon (Larry) Jackson, David (Heidi) Christensen, and Jessica (Peter) Armijo; grandchildren, Jennifer (Carey) Turner, John Johnson, Justin (Mary Jane) Griffith, Nicole (Jeff) Martin, Amanda (Matt) Speirs, Shelly Coon, Colby (Jubilee) Hunt, Ryan Jackson, Sean Jackson, Katie Christensen, Kyler Christensen, Isaac Armijo, Isabella Armijo; great grandchildren, Max Sellers, Gabby, Zoe and MaHalie Flores, Jordan, Dallin and Michael Griffith, Ariel Moser, Spencer and Carter Speirs, Chase, Kylie Anne and Kiara Hunt; sisters, LaRona McAllister and Joy Davis; and brother, Roy Christensen. Preceded in death by parents; sister, LaRae Harding; brother, Ken Christensen; and son in law, Larry Jackson.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the Lake Ridge 3 rd Ward, 3151 S. 7700 W. Friends and family may call Friday 6-8 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., and Saturday 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
