JoAnn Lamb

JoAnn Davis Lamb, age 76 passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 22 ^nd .   JoAnn passed away of a broken heart and kidney failure.  Her heart has been broken since her eternal companion died one year ago.

JoAnn was born December 1, 1937, in Magna, Utah to David Elroy and Ora Almeda Gray Davis.  JoAnn loved growing up in Magna and graduated from Cyprus High School where she enjoyed many lasting friendships.  JoAnn married the young, returned marine and returned missionary, Kirt J. Lamb in the Salt Lake Temple on August 23, 1957.

JoAnn was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served lovingly in ward and stake young women and as ward and stake Relief Society President.  JoAnn loved her Savior, Jesus Christ and had a firm testimony of his love for her.  JoAnn served a full-time mission with Kirt in the Nevada, Las Vegas Mission.  She loved serving as a missionary and loved the people in her mission.

JoAnn’s priority in her life was her family.  She loved being an at-home mom and every minute of her life was committed to her family.  She was happiest when the family was together participating in family activities and family vacations.   When her children were raised she founded J&K Weddings, which she loved dearly and was a delight in her life.  She was a creative genius. She loved Disneyland and shared Walt’s motto of; “If you can dream it, you can do it”.  That was our mom.

JoAnn loved pulling a good prank, starting a water fight, throwing a party, rearranging walls in her home, decorating anything with bling and making dreams a reality.

JoAnn’s favorite scripture; “Choose you this day whom ye will serve; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”  This scripture is how she lived her life and encouraged her family to do the same. She was our perfect example.

JoAnn is survived by her children, Julie (Hal) Hurst, Barbara (Kevin) Pasker, Melinda (Dalen) Slater and her son, Clinton (Becky) Lamb and her foster son, Verle Joe; 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  She was proceeded in death by her husband, Kirt; her parents; brother, Erland; and sisters, Cleora and Deniece.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 26th, at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Ward, 4251 S. 4800 W.  A viewing, also at the Memorial Ward, will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25 ^th , and from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral.
