John "Johny" Rigler, 76, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born February 11, 1948, in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Frank "Rig" and Elaine Rigler. John married Janice on October 3, 1994.
John graduated from Jordan High School in 1968, shortly thereafter, he was drafted. He proudly served in the US Army during The Vietnam War (1968-1969.) He was a sergeant and received many accolades including a Bronze Star. After retiring as an Ironworker, he continued to work another 15 years at Health South.
John lived to hunt, fish, or do anything outdoors. Nothing made him happier than to go hunting and fishing with his best friend and brother, Gary and his two nephews, Jay and Justin. Oh, the stories they could tell!
Johny will be deeply missed by all of us. He is survived by his children, Ted (Shannon), Angie, Vickie (David), and Jackie (Bryan); 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Frankie Jean Arias; brothers, Raymond (Leslie) and Gary (Jeri).
Johny is preceded in death by his parents, Rig and Elaine; his wife, Janice; and his sister, Darlene Shell.
His daughter, Vickie would like to give a special thank you to the Salt Lake Veterans Hospital and Canyon Home Health & Hospice team for their hard work, dedication, and respect they showed her dad.
A graveside service will be held at 11am, Wednesday, May 22, 2204 at the Pleasant Green Cemetery. 9200 W. 3500 S.. Magna, UT.
