Jon was born to Hans LeRoy Otteson and Carol Phipps Otteson., Feb 11th, 1959, in Provo, Utah. He graduated from Orem High School in 1977.  He married Kathy Peterson in 1980 and later divorced.

Jon was never happier than he was after he met Debra Otteson in 2009 and happily married her. She was his light and he was her everything. His wife, his children, and especially his grandchildren were always most precious and important. He was very passionate about spending quality time and creating memories of happiness and laughter with his family and friends.

Jon had a passion for riding his motorcycle(s), shooting his many guns, collecting garden gnomes to compete with Debra’s pink flamingos and helping with projects to better the lives of those around him. He was a warm soul, generous, kind, loving and passionate in everything he did and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him knew this.

Jon would dress in camo any chance he could, he would buy a new gun anytime Debra would let him, and he would lend you his wisdom, his knowledge and his tools without even asking.

Jon will be greatly missed by all those that had the pleasure to be a part of his life. He will leave behind a gap that nobody can fill but him. His kindness, his passion, his generosity, his big smile and his unbreakable love will never be forgotten. He will live on forever in our minds and in our hearts.
