MAGNA-"The candy man can mix it with love and make the world taste good."

Joseph F. Woolley, born November 6, 1919 in Magna Utah died Sunday, July 31, 2011 at his home of natural causes.

Joe was the 5th of 8 children born to Ranald Mills and Sarah Brown Woolley.  After he graduated from Ogden High the family moved back to Magna.  On Nov.7, 1940 he married LaRae Russon in the Salt Lake Temple.  They had 3 children.

He believed in honesty, integrity and hard work. He operated 2 gas stations, worked for Utah Construction Co. and retired from Kennecott Utah Copper with 30+ years of service.  In his spare time he made thousands of pounds of chocolates and candy for the community.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities in ward, bishopric and stake callings.

Joe was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman.  He had a winning smile and terrific sense of humor.

He is survived by his children, David (Linda), JoRae Haynes, Dennis (Judy); 9 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; brothers and sister, Ranald (Betty) Woolley, Grant (Clarice) Woolley, and Lucy (Carmen) Perry; brother-in-law, Owen Erickson; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Marlor.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon Friday, August 5, 2011 at the Pleasant Green Chapel, 8739 W. 3000 S.  Friends and family may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., and Friday 11-11:45 a.m. at the church.  Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.  Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
