Karen Lavon Rigby Malizia Duckworth Thompson
Our mom, grandmother, sister and friend, Karen Lavon Rigby Malizia Duckworth Thompson passed away at Hunter Hollow Care Center on March 3, 2014. She was born on September 22, 1945 to Charles D. Rigby and Anna J. Byington.
Mom loved to crochet, doing word searches and making people happy, but more than anything she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Theresa (Mitch); son, David (Karon); her grandchildren, Robert, Adam and Anthony, Larry (Maren), Fredrick (Norma), Jerry, Cameron and Emily; ten great-grandchildren; her brother, Jerry (Sharon); sister, Darleen (Ray); brother in-law, Al; sister in-law, Joyce; many nieces and nephews; as well as her step-daughters, Shelley (Brook) and Robin (Jeff); her step-grandchildren, Shanna (Trustan), Justin, Cheryl and Hanna; 4 step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gerald Anthony Malizia, Jr.; husband, Franklin 'Elrod' Thompson; her brother, Larry; and sisters, Joyce and Gloria.
Her family would like to thank the staff and her many friends at Hunter Hollow for their care and championship during her time with them.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 S. Redwood Rd. A visitation will be held Monday 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., Magna.
