Keith William Warren Burkhart

Keith William Warren Burkhart, aged 65, passed away on Saturday, Dec 21, 2024. He was a beloved father, grandfather, husband, and friend, and his family will dearly miss his presence.

Keith was born on December 4, 1959, in Aberdeen, Washington. His father served in the US Navy so, growing up, Keith lived in Florida, California, Rhode Island, the Philippines, and Arizona. When old enough Keith joined the Boy Scouts of America and continued to be involved in Scouting for much of his life.

Right out of high school, Keith enlisted in the US Navy and attended boot camp at RTC Orlando. He then attended A-school at NAS Millington, TN, where he trained in Aviation Electronics. His first assignment was to VP-9, NAS Moffett Field, CA with deployments to Adak, AK; Reykjavik, Iceland; and Misawa, Japan.

While he was in the Navy, Keith was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Misawa. After leaving the Navy, he served a mission for the Church in New York and Mississippi.

Keith married Mauny Pierce in 1984 in Oakland, CA. They lived in Sunnyvale, CA; Pensacola FL; West Valley City, UT; and Magna, UT. Keith held various jobs in the electronics field. Their divorce was finalized in 2003.

Keith married Paula Bateman in Salt Lake City, UT that same year. They later lived in Magna, UT.

More than anything, Keith was a caring father. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, in his special way, through all the challenges they faced.

In his free time, Keith enjoyed a collection of hobbies, including bowling, mountain man activities, woodwork, leather work, jewelry making, LEGO, cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, model building, and annoying people.

Keith was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Burkhart, and father Billy Wayne Burkhart.

Keith leaves behind his mother, Marvena McClinton, stepmother, Caridad “Carina” Burkhart “Richardson”, sister Debbie Burkhart, mother of his children and friend, Mauny Pierce, loving wife, Paula Burkhart, children, Bradley (Heather) Burkhart, Gregory Burkhart, and Camerra (Shawn) Withers, and grandchildren, Emri Withers, Aluna Withers, Lincoln Burkhart, and Eisley Burkhart. All who knew and loved him will cherish his memory.

A private funeral service will be held for family and close friends at the LDS meetinghouse, 8739 West 3000 South, Magna, UT, on December 31 at 11:00 AM, with a viewing the hour before. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to his grandchildren’s education fund.
