Keith (Pard) L. Burrell
Born March 4th 1935 in Magna, UT to Ellis Burrell and Ella Batt Burrell. The youngest, with 3 sassy sisters, passed away peacefully on February 18th 2020.
Heavenly Father definitely broke the mold when he made our dad. He had the Burrell sense of humor (which most didn’t get) but left us all very entertained. We all knew Dad was a great BS-er and told the best stories. He loved to buy ANYTHING from DI or NPS, and the Magna Mall. Even if he already owned five or twenty at home it was still a great deal. He loved old cars and tractors and enjoyed traveling to see them in shows. Those who knew him knew he had a saying for everything, and a nickname for just about everyone.
Even though all of us were not his natural born children, no one would ever know the difference because of the unconditional love he had for every one of us. And I know we have all gotten that over-the-glasses Dad look a time or two - some of us more than others (they know who they are).
Dad always gave Christ-like service to everyone around him never once considering payment or reward. He was always willing to help whether it be taking trash cans to the curb for his lady neighbors, or pulling a stranger’s sheep out of a muddy canal, he would never say no. If it was broke you could bring it on over and he would fix it right up and tell you to chair down and grab a coke while you wait.
Dad spent over 32 years as an electrician with Kennecott and 12 years as a machinist for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He spent most of his adult life in Scouting and numerous church callings where he touched the lives of so many.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann, children: Debra and Craig, Cindy and Bobby, Walter and Mark, Leighann and Mike, Robin and Lynn, Leslie and Gary, Janel and Chad, Terra, and Tracie. 39 grandkids, 38.5 great grandkids, and 1 great, great grandkid. He was preceded in death by his first wife Ada, son Mike, son-in-law Scott, and daughters Kathy and Kaye. What a wonderful reunion that must have been.
Words cannot express how much we are going to miss you and the hole that has been left. We will continue to spread your love of service and tell your many stories like Foot Foot and The Golden screw. Looking forward to our own reunion and we will remember no shirt, no shoes, no binkies. Till we meet again.
We would like to give a special thanks to Heartwood Home Health for all of their compassion, love and service while taking care of our Dad in his last days. We are particularly grateful for Lisa and Kerry for taking that extra care, not only with our dad, but being a friend to our mom and understanding on a level that we couldn’t. She couldn’t have gotten through it without you.
