Welp, I died! An aggressive cancer of the brain called glioblastoma took me out. Leave it to me to go out big! I battled and fought with the disease for months the best way I could. I’m going to keep this short and sweet. I had a good life, for the most part. I made mistakes and made some bad decisions, as we all do.
Fortunately, I don’t have many regrets and was able to make most things right before I died. I was fortunate enough to say goodbye to many people, write my obituary, choose my headstone, and be blessed to choose to be cremated and buried with my Dad, my hero, Norman Curtis. I had a deep passion for animals, but most of all, for my love for my son, Richard Wentzell. I have many friends and family that truly love me, too many to list. I was fortunate to spend my last months with my brother Todd Curtis and his wife Diane, also my sister Glenna Evans, and her husband Todd.
Kelli passed peacefully, surrounded by family and her special fur babies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Merna “Kay” Curtis; siblings Richard Dean, Jeffrey Curtis, Mark Curtis, and Lori Curtis; and grandparents, DeVirl and Sylvia Curtis and Francis “Keith” and Merna Kelley.
She is survived by her son, Richard Wentzell; her grandson arriving in March 2025; brothers, Todd (Diane) Curtis, and Wayne Dean; sisters, Glenna (Todd) Evans, Jodi Curtis, and Jackie (Mike) Howard; several nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and her very special fur babies, Oakley and Rex.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, from noon- 2 pm at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W Main Street (2700 S) Magna, Utah with a celebration of life to follow.
Graveside services will be held at a later date at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 W. 4100 S. West Valley, Utah.
